Prioritizing the Baltimore Ravens NFL Draft: Top 5 Positions to Address - Bleacher Nation (2025)

The Baltimore Ravens participated more extensively in free agency than initially expected, resolving both critical and less obvious team weaknesses. Notable actions include the contract extension for left tackle Ronnie Stanley and the acquisition of veteran quarterback Cooper Rush as a backup. But there’s more work to be done.

With the 2025 NFL Draft approaching, the team’s focus has now shifted to what holes remain. Here are the top 5 positions the Baltimore Ravens should prioritize in the upcoming draft.

What Picks Do the Baltimore Ravens Have in 2025?

The Baltimore Ravens have 11 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, which include:

  • Round 1 (27)
  • Round 2 (59)
  • Round 3 (91)
  • Round 4 (129)
  • Round 4 (136)
  • Round 5 (176)
  • Round 6 (183)
  • Round 6 (203)
  • Round 6 (210)
  • Round 6 (212)
  • Round 7 (243)

Top 5 Needs for the Baltimore Ravens

1. Cornerback

Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins are high-caliber for the Ravens’ secondary, but depth is now an issue as they released veteran Arthur Maulet and let two-year starter Brandon Stephens sign a three-year deal with the New York Jets during free agency. In the modern NFL, a third elite corner is essential when defending so any three and four wide receiver sets.

2. Offensive Line

Re-signing Stanley helps shore up Lamar Jackson’s blindside, but the Baltimore Ravens also lost Patrick Mekari, who started every game at left guard from Week 4 through the playoffs, along with veteran Josh Jones, who can play both tackle and guard but served as the primary backup at left tackle last season. Look for Baltimore to use a few of their 11 picks to beef up their interior offensive line.

3. EDGE Rusher

Kyle Van Noy’s 12.5 sacks led this defense in 2024, but he’ll be 34 years old this season, and along with Odafe Oweh, are in the last years of their respective contracts. David Ojabo hasn’t exactly panned out, and Tavius Robinson is still developing. The Baltimore Ravens like to stockpile EDGE guys, and there are plenty of quality players at the position in the 2025 NFL Draft.

4. Safety

Ar’Darius Washington, despite receiving a restricted free agent tender, remains vulnerable to an offer sheet from another team until April 18th. If the Ravens are outbid, they risk losing him without compensation. Even if Washington returns, the Ravens lack proven depth behind him and Kyle Hamilton. The current backups, Sanoussi Kane and Beau Brade, primarily contributed on special teams as rookies.

The departure of Geno Stone to Cincinnati in 2024 exposed a significant gap at the safety position. Acquiring a playmaking safety is a critical need for Baltimore. This addition would restore the defense’s dynamic playmaking ability, reminiscent of their 2023 performance when they led the league in sacks and takeaways.

5. Defensive Tackle/End

With Michael Pierce retired and Travis Jones heading into the final season of his rookie deal, the Ravens’ defensive line needs reinforcement. Nnamdi Madubuike is solid, but Broderick Washington is coming off a down year. Thankfully, interior defensive linemen should be plentiful in April and considered a position of strength in the 2025 draft class.
