Chris Coleman


Chris Coleman was born in West Virginia and he received his MFA from SUNY Buffalo in New York. His work includes sculptures, videos, creative coding and interactive installations. Coleman has had his work in solo exhibitions across the US and Canada and he has been part of more than 40 group exhibitions in 10 countries including Brazil, Argentina, China, Italy, France, and Switzerland. His animations and videos have been shown at over 100 events and festivals in over 20 countries including events such as Cochella, the Boston Underground Film Festival, the Bangkok IndieFest, the Global Cinema Festival in India, and Pixel Vision in Russia. Several of the artworks have been used extensively in public spaces such as the digital billboards of Federation Square in Melbourne Australia and New York’s Times Square where Juror Isabella Rossellini presented the Metropolis Art Prize grand prize to Coleman in 2010. He currently resides in Denver, Colorado, USA, and is the Director and an Associate Professor of Emergent Digital Practices at the University of Denver.
